Klaus Löber

Klaus Löber is the Chair of the CCP Supervisory Committee at ESMA, which has a mandate towards safeguarding a resilient clearing ecosystem in the EU, ensuring supervisory convergence, monitoring and supervising CCPs, as appropriate, in view of the risks that they may pose to the EU financial system. He is also chairing the ESMA CCP Policy Committee and the Joint Monitoring Mechanism. Mr Löber is co-chair of the Operational Resilience Group of CPMI-IOSCO.

Prior to this role, Mr Löber was the Head of Oversight of the European Central Bank. Earlier positions include the Head of Secretariat of the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures as well as positions in the European Commission, Deutsche Bundesbank and private practice.

Mr Löber regularly publishes on financial markets legal, regulatory and infrastructure issues and lectures at universities.
